What changed in the third edition

Two new chapters. Chapter 6 is about setting tasks for AI: templates, techniques, a formula for task quality, and a separate section on using questions to check implementation plans and sign off on the final result. Chapter 21 is about a leader's own AI setup: what you can hand off to AI, how my own workspace is set up, and my own experience.

Updated facts — and the original theses hold up. New illustrations and sections inside the existing chapters, for example where you need AI and where plain automation will do. A case from Anthropic's own practice: three instances of the same model, with no excess privileges and no outside adversary, sabotaged one another within a few hours, while a coordinated swarm of 45 agents found 266 vulnerabilities against 21 for the same agents working alone. A new section on Russia's own path in AI. An updated look at how China regulates AI and AI agents. Plus a few techniques from my own practice.

If you read the first or second edition, there is a "What's New" section at the front so you do not have to reread everything.
