What We Brought Back from Our Trip to China: 4 Insights About AI

Today, there are two leaders in the world in the field of AI - the USA and China. And in 2 weeks in China, we visited 5 cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou) and held dozens of meetings where we studied the development of artificial intelligence and saw with our own eyes why China is considered one of the centers of the global technological race.

Key insights from the trip:

🔥 Mass implementation of AI. In every city there are clusters, accelerators, hundreds of startups. Alipay already has built-in AI assistants, and in the subway you can see ads for cloud services for AI.

🔥 Focus on practical models. Despite all the talk about “strong AI,” most experts are confident that the future lies in compact, accessible, and specialized solutions built into specific processes.

🔥 Infrastructure is the foundation of everything. Automation, sensors, robotics, fast and stable communication, high-quality data. All this forms the basis for the large-scale implementation of AI in production and everyday life.

🔥 Scale and speed. The level of robotization in China is 10+ times higher than in Russia. This is not just technology for the sake of technology, but a real increase in efficiency and a basis for developing new solutions.

💡 Our conclusion: the strength of the Chinese AI industry lies in its mass character, support for startups, investment in infrastructure, and a culture of data sharing.

And this is just the beginning. We are already preparing new formats of cooperation:

✔️ educational AI tours for managers,

✔️ exchange of expertise and experience,

✔️ supply of equipment for local deployment of AI, automation and data collection.
